From 1887 through 1920 Fostoria was the heart of the glass industy in the United States boasting 13 glass factories within the city limits.  These thriving businesses were provided resources through two local excavation companies which harvested the rich lime quarries in the area.

Fostoria Parks and Recreation

'Fostoria Trail Trekkers' Progam!

Please click on a link to learn about the following parks and reservoirs.

Parks

Buckley Street Courts Harmon Park
City Park Jackson Park
Community Water Park Meadowlark Park
Gray Park Portage Park

- Parks are open from dawn to dusk.

- No littering or dumping allowed.

- Fires may be built only in grills or fireplaces, must be attended at all times, and extinguished prior to leaving.

- Dogs and cats must be on a short leash and must not foul public areas.

- Motor vehicles must remain on designated roads or in parking lots.  No parking or driving on grass is permitted.

- Beer, alcohol and drugs of abuse are prohibited.

- Sales or solicitations or placement of signs within parks requires permission from the Mayor.

- Shelters, courts and playground equipment are available on a first-come basis unless previously reserved.

- City and Gray Parks shelter reservations are available by calling Diane Lind at 419-435-8282.
Rates are as follows:

  • Shelter #2: $25.00
  • Shelter #4: $50.00
  • Shelter #5: $55.00

All shelters require a $25.00 deposit

Meadowlark, Jackson, and Portage Park's shelters are available on a first come basis without a charge.
