The City of Fostoria is the recipient of the 2008 Community Housing Improvement Program grant in the amount of $500,000.
The grant is funded through the state Department of Development and uses three sources for the money; the Community Development Block Grant, home funds and the Ohio Housing Trust Funds.
The grant's effective date is Sept. 1, 2008 and lasts for two years. All work through the grant must be completed by Oct. 31, 2010 with all money drawn by Nov. 30, 2010. The project time period will end Dec. 31, 2010, according to the award letter from ODOD.
